Tempo Underwriting, a multi-line MGA which launched in London last April, has added a treaty reinsurance team to its platform that will write marine and aviation treaty from 1 January 2013.
The new business lines will target cedants based in Africa, Europe and Asia and is backed by capacity provided by Kuwait Re, the firm said in a statement.
The treaty team will be headed by Tunde Olowofila, a composite treaty and retro underwriter, who was head of treaty at Q-Re for three years before joining Tempo last year.
He was previously a treaty underwriter at Canopius and at Endurance, and specialised in marine and energy.
Tempo also writes commercial directors’ and officers’ business, retro and non-marine and energy treaty lines. It has a seven-strong team, including four managers who set the agency up last year.
